Sand Screen Metal Disc
Discs such as these Premium Sand Screens are coated with diamonds for grinding glass, ceramics, and composite materials. We offer metal screens that are filled with silicon carbide and are available in different grits for the purpose of repairing coatings on wood, concrete, and painted floors.
Sand screen discs are also used for repairing painted floor surfaces. In order to apply a new finish, the discs sand down the old finish. This method of refinishing a floor is commonly used in gyms and is called the "scour method." The grit of the sand screen disc varies from coarse to fine. Assuring you of the finest quality discs, silicon carbide abrasive is used in the manufacturing process.
Our Premium Sand Screens remove surface scratches, dull gloss finishes for re-coating, and any floor operation where only the removal of the finish is desired, leaving the hardwood flooring beneath untouched. When the floor is barely worn or re-coated frequently (like gymnasium floors), this system is most advantageous. Both sides of the disc can be used, wet or dry. Grinding, stripping, sanding, blending, and deburring can be accomplished with orbital and rotary sanders.
